Life Insurance

Life Insurance for people with hyperhidrosis will typically be accepted at standard terms with many insurers. If you have developed a secondary condition such as stress then you should detail this fully on your Life Insurance application.

Critical Illness Cover

Critical Illness Cover for those with hyperhidrosis may be available at standard terms provided that there are no significant secondary illnesses contributing to the condition. Where hyperhidrosis is a stand alone condition it is probably that your Critical Illness application will be accepted at normal terms. In circumstances where there are additional medical conditions to detail, the insurer will need to underwrite the application further based upon the extra health disclosures.

Income Protection

Income Protection for people with hyperhidrosis will likely be available at standard terms provided that there are no secondary conditions involved and there has been no significant periods of time off work. Where there has been a history of stress and/or treatments such as cognitive behaviour therapy, it is possible that the insurer will place a stress exclusion on the policy claims set.

Some potential problems experienced by individuals who have hyperhidrosis include:

  • Social withdrawal
  • Dietary restrictions
  • Loose fitting clothing
