When you are a horse rider, insurance applications for Income Protection will often be considered for normal terms when you take part in private hacking only. If you take part in competitions or show jumping then your application will be considered and most likely accepted with exclusions. This would mean that should you be unable to work due to an accident or illness due to your competitive horse riding, that you would be unable to make a claim on the policy.
If you compete or perform show jumps and do not want an exclusion on your plan then a financial adviser may be able to offer you a package comprising of accident/sickness cover and income protection cover that could provide some cover for your activity. If you would like further details on this please feel free to contact us on 0800 567 7450.
