In general you should have no concern applying for Life Insurance if you have a musculoskeletal condition, as whilst your condition may be serious it is not usually life threatening. Depending upon your condition and the severity of your illness it may be necessary for the Insurance Provider to speak with your GP. This is a standard process and can be handled fully by our team who will keep you away from any hassle and keep you up to date regularly with your application.
Your condition may result in your Life Insurance application being awarded "special" rates. This could include a premium increase due to the perceived added risk that your condition presents on your general health. Indications of the amount of premium increase you could expect are available within the links below. If you have any additional medical conditions or significant familial history you may find that your policy is declined.
Again you should not be concerned about applying for Critical Illness Insurance with your musculoskeletal condition. Should your condition be on the list of claimable conditions of the Critical Illness policy it will certainly be excluded from your policy. You may also find that any illnesses that are closely linked to your condition are excluded.
Whilst this may make you wonder if there is any point applying for Critical Illness cover please be aware that such policies can include up to 59 conditions. It is unlikely that you will have any conditions excluded but if you do there will still be plenty of others that you are insured for.
