We are determined to take every step possible to make our services accessible to all. You may require a way of communicating with us that we have not used before and we would be incredibly grateful if you could teach us about what we can do to support you.

As part of our work to make Cura as accessible and inclusive as possible, we have installed the Recite Me software throughout this website.

Accessibility

Recite Me allows you to alter the way that our website works, so that you can access it the way that suits you best.

1 in 5 people within the UK have some form a disability that can make accessing websites difficult. Recite Me’s innovative solution can help people with conditions like dyslexia, sight loss and blindness to access our services more easily.

It is also estimated that 1 in 10 people living with the UK do not speak English as their first language. Recite Me allows you to translate our website into over 100 languages.

You can see a quick demonstration in this video and there are more to help you further down the page.

How do I access the Recite Me toolbar?

To open the Recite Me language and accessibility toolbar you need to click a specific button.

At the very top of our website there is a section in the right that says ‘Accessibility Toolbar’ with the letters AA in a circle next to it. This is the button you need to press to access Recite Me. Or you can click here to access Recite Me now.

This button appears on every page of our website, so you can always access it wherever you are looking.

Once you have clicked on this button, the Recite Me language and accessibility toolbar will open for you. It will then display a range of options that will help you to customise our website to suit your needs.

How does Recite Me help me access Cura?

A huge part of our website is providing information about how to access insurance, for people living with health conditions. Making sure that our website is accessible to you is so important to us.

The Recite Me toolbar can help you to find important information about the types of insurance that you might be able to access, the questions you will be asked and the potential policy terms that you may be offered.

It will also help you to read our latest guides, detailing what we have been up to, as well as industry developments. We are also really proud of our charity and meet the team pages and hope that you have a look at them too.

The Recite Me toolbar has a unique range of functions. You can use it to:

  • Have the text on our website read aloud (including PDFs)
  • Download the text as an MP3 file to play it where and when it suits you
  • Change font sizes and colours
  • Customise background colour
  • Translate text into more than 100 different languages
  • Access a fully integrated dictionary and thesaurus

You can find out more about how Recite Me works with this user guide.
